After last week's tremendous comeback against Ashridge, the Aces' performance this time was nowhere near as good, and Wokingham took the points with a deserved 4-2 victory.

The Aces made the perfect start, going 1-0 up inside five minutes. A flick-on from Zac was controlled by Winko, who fired it past the keeper.

The lead didn't last long. A miskick from the Aces keeper fell to a Wokingham player on the edge of the box, who hit it first time into the roof of the net to make it 1-1.

The Aces then showed a glimpse of what they're capable of. Some lovely one-touch football through the centre of midfield ended with a Jackson shot that was blocked, but the ball fell to Winko, who caught it on the half volley into the far side netting to leave the keeper stranded. 2-1.

Just minutes later, Wokingham sent a long ball over the top. Three of their players beat the offside trap and one of them placed it past the keeper to make it 2-2 at half time.

The Aces were forced into a change in goal at the break. Hayden got something in his eye and couldn't continue, so right winger Fieldy stepped up between the sticks.

The second half is where it all went downhill. A quick goal from Wokingham put the Aces on the back foot at 3-2, and less than five minutes later Wokingham broke through the back line to score a fourth.

Wokingham defended very well and the Aces couldn't find that final ball. The game finished 4-2, and Wokingham were deserved winners at the full-time whistle.

The Aces are still waiting for their first win after three games, but they have shown flashes of pure class. If they can rediscover their pre-season form, they are still very much in this league.
